    | 1. In 5 quart dutch oven, saute` onions in butter over low heat 15 minutes or until onions are golden brown and tender. | 2. Stir in beef broth,beef consomme`, beef base, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. | 3. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 to 20 minutes. | 4. In a medium bowl combine cheeses. | 5. Ladle soup into 6 ovenproof bowls.Top each with slice of toasted French bread; sprinkle with about 2 Tablespoons cheese mixture. | 6. Broil about 3 to 5 inches from heat for 1 to 3 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. (Put bowls on cookie sheet to make it easy). | 7.
