    | 1. Remove the sausage from the casings. | 2. In a large stockpot brown the sausage in a little olive oil over medium high making sure to break them into pieces, when cooked remove and set aside. | 3. Add onion, garlic and green pepper, sauté until tender. | 4. Add sausage, chicken broth, carrots, Pastene tomatoes, cheese tortellini, garlic, basil and oregano to stockpot. | 5. Bring to a boil and then simmer uncovered for about 2 hours until tortellini are cooked. | 6. Serve in soup bowls and sprinkle with parmesan cheese if desired along with italian bread to slop up the broth. | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
