    | 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. | 2. Grease a 15 by 11 by 1 jelly-roll pan. | 3. Beat butter and sugar on medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes. | 4. Peel, core and halve apples. | 9. Thinly slice apples. | 10. Fan slices neatly in rows over the top of the batter. | 11. Melt jelly and brush 1/4 cup of it over the apples. | 12. Bake until lightly golden and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 40 minutes. | 13.
