    | 1. Cream together the butter and sugar and beat until light and fluffy. | 2. Add eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well. | 3. Sift together dry ingredients and spices. Add this to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk until it forms a stiff dough. | 4. Form into a log and wrap in wax paper. Chill for a minimum of 2 hours to overnight. | 5. Dust rolling mat with a bit of cake flour and take a portion of the dough log and roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Using the cookie cutter design of your choice, cut out cookies and place on a lightly greased (or use parchment paper) baking tray. | 6. Bake at 375F for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool 5 minutes before removing to a cooling rack to cool completely. | 7. Optional - lightly frost or ice the cookies to your liking. I also love these cookies just as is so the spices shine through. | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
