    | 1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. | 2. Add enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough. | 4. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. | 5. Place in a greased bowl and turn once to grease top. | 6. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour. | 7. Punch dough down and roll into a 16 inch by 9 inch rectangle. | 8. Cut rectangle into 3 16 inch by 3 inch pieces. | 9. Cut each piece into 16 3 inch by 1 inch strips. | 10. Twist each strip and place 1 1/2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. | 11. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. | 12. Combine 1 egg, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoons crushed aniseed and brush over twists. | 13.
