    | 1. Melt butter in a large saucepan and add onions, stir well. | 2. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes or until onions are soft and transparent. | 3. Remove the lid and continue cooking the onions until golden brown. | 4. Stir in the beef stock. Replace the lid and simmer for 30 – 40 minutes. | 5. Add Worcestershire sauce, Kitchen Bouquet and salt, if needed. | 6. To serve, top bowl of soup with a slice of bread and 1/4 of the cheese. | 7.
