    | 1. Melt butter in a saucepan on med-low, add onions. Cover and cook for 10 mins or till onions are tender but not brown (stir occasionally). | 2. Stir in flour. Then while stirring then add broth, wine, Worcestershire, pepper and Bay leaf while stirring. Bring to a boil then cover and reduce to a simmer for 30 mins - stirring occasionally. Salt to taste just before serving. | 3. To serve: Ladle soup into bowls, top with toast and cheese.
