    | 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. | 2. Combine potatoes, water, garlic and salt in a pan over high heat. | 3. Bring to a boil. | 4. Reduce heat to medium and cook until potatoes are tender, about 10 minutes. | 5. Drain potatoes and place in a bowl. | 6. Discard garlic. | 7. Add milk, butter and white pepper. | 8. Mash well. | 9. Add sausage, green onions and butter and mix well. | 10. Spread mixture into a large well-greased oval casserole. | 11. With the back of a large, moistened spoon, make 4 deep depressions in mixture. | 12. Break an egg carefully into each depression. | 13. Bake on middle rack of oven for 20 minutes. | 14. Sprinkle with grated Swiss cheese. | 15. Bake until egg whites are firm, about 3 to 5 minutes more. | 16.
