    | 1. Clean mushrooms and slice in half if large. | 2. Pat dry. | 3. Fry bacon in a large pan until lightly browned. | 4. Remove from pan and reserve. | 5. Add the butter to the pan drippings. | 6. Add onions; saute until lightly browned. | 7. Add mushrooms; cook until tender, stirring often. | 8. Stir in wine, salt, pepper, paprika, nutmeg, and mace. | 9. Cover frypan and cook over low heat 15 minutes. | 10. Off the heat, add the cooked bacon, cream and lemon juice. | 11. Reheat until just warm. | 12. Do NOT let the mixture boil! | 13.
