    | 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. | 2. Grease a 13" x 9" cake pan; line with parchment paper and set aside. | 3. In a bowl, whisk together the sugar, molasses, butter, eggs, and vanilla. | 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt. | 5. Stir into the butter mixture until combined. | 6. Stir in the crystallized ginger and scrape into the prepared pan. | 7. Bake in the centre of the oven until a cake tester inserted in the centre comes out clean, about 40 minutes. | 8. Let cool in the pan on a rack for 45 minutes. | 9. To make the glaze, stir together the icing sugar, butter and lemon juice. | 10. Spread over the squares while still warm. | 11.
