    | 1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. | 2. Measure flour, salt and baking powder in bowl and stir to blend, set aside. | 3. Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat, remove from stove. Stir in brown sugar. | 4. Blend in egg, vanilla and orange zest. | 5. Add flour mixture to the butter mixture. | 6. Stir in coconut and dates. | 7. Spread mixture into a greased 7"x 11" pan. | 8.
