    | 1. Preheat oven to 180°C. | 2. Using a deep, dry bowl beat egg whites until stiff. | 3. Add the sugar gradually and continue beating until thick. | 4. Add the yolks and beat lightly. | 5. Sift the dry ingredients gently over and mix in lightly. | 6. Fold in the margarine and water. | 7. Pour into two prepared tins and bake for 20 minutes. | 8. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack. | 9. Fill and sandwich with jam and cream. | 10. Sift icing sugar on top of cake. | 11. HINT: To prepare baking pan, brush lightly with oil. | 12.
