    | 1. Peel the Onion and the Apple and slice fairly finely. | 2. Put the Oil in a Roasting Tin and add the Onion and Apple. | 3. Stir the sliced Apples and Onions around to coat them lightly with the Oil. | 4. Lay the Sausages out on top of the Onions and Apple and bake them in a moderately hot oven 375 Deg F (190 deg C) for about 10 minutes. | 5. Whilst that is baking make the Batter. | 6. Sift the Flour, Salt and Pepper into a mixing bowl and add in the Sage. | 7. Break the Eggs into the Center. | 8. Add in the Milk and stir the mixture carefully from the center, incorporating all the Flour from around the edges, until the mixture smooth, with no lumps. | 9. Beat in the Cider. | 10. Pour this mixture around the Sausages. | 11. Bake for another 50 minutes and the top is nicely browned. | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
